In a bid to increase its popularity and maintain players’ interest, Axie Infinity has introduced a new mechanism into the Axie Universe. The team launched Axie Experience Points (AXP) and Axie Levels. These mechanisms will help Axies evolve from being a digital collectible into lifelong friends and family heirlooms.
How to Get Axie Experience Points?
At the moment, players can only earn AXP by playing Origins. In ranked battles, each axie in the winning team will get 150 XP. However, an Axie can only get a maximum of 4500 AXP per day. The AXP is axie-bound and cannot be transferred between Axies. In the near future, players will earn AXP from other Axie experiences including first-party Sky Mavis-built games and partnered games. Players will have the opportunity to use their favorite Axies in Origins, Homeland, and Doll to pursue a precious AXP. It is an off-chain resource that aims to bind all aspects of the Axie ecosystem.
The AXP is required to upgrade an Axie to the next level. Axie has introduced a level starting from 1 up to 30. These levels have three ascension points at levels 9, 19, and 29 respectively. To scale up these levels, players must obtain 13,310 AXP, 110,480 AXP, and 334,170 AXP respectively. This process of upgrading an Axie is called Ascension. Players can watch a short video released to help them navigate around AXP and Axie levels.
Level Up Rewards
Axie has rolled out a rewarding challenge where the first ten players to reach level 30 will be rewarded with specialized Japanese Axies. The top 100 players to attain level 30 will be gifted a unique Origins avatar and avatar border. The team is working on a third reward tier and would possibly announce it soon. Players must endeavor to sync their Axie to level 30 on the Ronin chain to qualify as the timestamp of the transaction.
Legacy Experience Points
Prior to the launch of AXP, Axie introduced Legacy Experience Points from the Fall of 2018 to the Winter of 2019. Players who collected these Experience Points could only use them for breeding. AXP is a unique tool for game creators and builders, enabling them to connect directly with the Axie Core System. AXP encourages player involvement and helps developers condition players to complete certain in-game actions. Through this, developers can hit traction and development milestones with ease.
