Evermoon has rebranded as Evermoon Games, transitioning from a standalone Web3 MOBA into a broader game and entertainment studio. The new platform includes casual games, creator rewards, a 24/7 VTuber layer, and an upcoming utility token, all developed on Soneium, Sony’s Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain built with the OP stack from Optimism.
The studio now operates across five core areas: mobile games, quest-based rewards through its Moon Mission hub, creator tools, AI-generated VTuber content, and the soon-to-launch $EVM token. The rebrand introduces titles like Axolt’s Escape, a mobile endless runner, and the upcoming Cat vs Cucumber, which combines elements of tower defense, roguelike structure, and merge mechanics.
Astar Network supports the Evermoon Games ecosystem through its $ASTR token, which is integrated into community rewards and Moon Mission quests. The network is also backed by a recent strategic investment from Animoca Brands, a leading force in blockchain gaming and digital property rights.
Underlying the entire ecosystem is Soneium, Sony’s proprietary blockchain initiative designed for entertainment and gaming use cases. Built on Optimism’s Layer-2 framework, Soneium supports low-cost transactions, smart contract deployment, NFT minting, and eventual interoperability through the Optimism Superchain. Since its mainnet launch in January 2025, Soneium has processed over 47 million transactions and more than 14 million active wallets. The Evermoon team confirmed that Sony-affiliated Soneium is providing infrastructure support and incubation.
The $EVM token will serve as the backbone of the platform’s in-game economy, tied to revenue from products rather than speculative trading. Airdrops and centralized exchange listings are in development, though exact timelines have not been announced. The token will be used across Evermoon Games products for marketplace access, capsule events, and game-related progression.
The original Evermoon MOBA remains in development and will enter beta once supporting infrastructure is in place. In the meantime, the studio is focused on delivering smaller-scale products that generate traction and revenue within the broader ecosystem.
