Quick Take
- Need for Speed Unbound delivers arcade racing on PS5 with cop chases and custom rides.
- Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed remakes the platformer using paint and thinner on PS4 and PS5.
- Core Keeper launches mining sandbox for one to eight players across PS4 and PS5.
PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers can download three new titles starting January 6. The lineup mixes racing thrills, Disney nostalgia, and cooperative exploration. Sony revealed the games on December 31 through its official blog.
These additions follow December’s rotation out. Lego Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality: Echo of Ada, and Neon White left the service on January 5. Users needed to claim them by that date to keep access.
Need for Speed Unbound
Criterion Games developed this entry in the long-running franchise. Players rise from street racer to champion in Lakeshore. Customize vehicles, evade police, and compete in weekly events leading to The Grand. The game features a single-player campaign alongside multiplayer races. It launched in late 2022 and earned praise for handling and visuals.
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed
Purple Lamp rebuilt the 2010 Wii title for modern consoles. Mickey Mouse explores Wasteland, a world of forgotten Disney icons. Wield a magic brush to paint for restoration or thin to reveal secrets. Meet Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and collect pins across platforming levels drawn from Disney animation. The remake improves controls and graphics while preserving creative choices.
Core Keeper
This sandbox adventure places explorers in vast caverns. Gather resources, craft tools, build bases, and fight Titans. Support up to eight players in co-op. Farm, fish, cook, and tame creatures while uncovering the Core’s power. The procedurally generated world evolves with player actions.
All three games remain claimable until February 2. Access requires an active Essential subscription. Download them from the PlayStation Store on PS4 or PS5.
