Axie Infinity: Homeland has finally launched a long-awaited feature, Land Delegation. The feature aims to make the game more accessible, thereby encouraging more gameplay.
The new feature developed by Sky Mavis will allow landowners to allocate their unstaked plots to Stewards who do not own any land. This initiative will encourage non-landowners to participate more in games. These Stewards can access the delegated plot(s) and earn rewards by reaching the top of the leaderboard. However, only the owners can access these rewards from the leaderboard. The mechanics behind Land Delegation sends these rewards directly to the landowner’s Ronin wallet address. Stewards can negotiate an income split with landowners during the onboarding process. Sky Mavis warned that staked land plots cannot be delegated. The team added that the current feature release is a test run as they roach the end of the Alpha and prepare to introduce a new $AXS gameplay loop.
Benefits of Land Delegation in Axie Infinity: HomeLand
Multiple Plot Owners have the liberty to delegate all their assets by assigning a single plot to one or more Stewards. The delegation period must be clearly stated (a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 365 days). Stewards can connect with prospective Landowners through AXS’s Discord channel. Landowners can revoke or reclaim their possession after delegating a plot of land. As it stands, no Steward can revoke a Land Plot or end a delegation. Nevertheless, landowners can only revoke land 24 hours after the delegation.
To delegate a plot, Landowners can simply visit app.axie, open the user dashboard, click “Land Delegation, ” select plot(s), and input the Stewards address and expiration date. Thereafter, they can click “Delegate” and complete the transaction from their Ronin wallet. Stewards would receive an email notification with the details of the delegated plot. A Steward’s inventory on app.axie will indicate the status —-“BORROWING” and the delegation’s expiration date. They can enjoy the full experience just like a landowner but cannot perform any other transaction like sales or transfer of the asset.
The inclusion of the Land delegation shows that Axie Infinity: Homeland is keen to bring its current roadmap to life. The team has commenced the second of the four phases listed. Sky Mavis aims to complete all scheduled tasks by 2025.
