Shrapnel is officially migrating from Avalanche to GalaChain, according to a message sent to its community and later confirmed by Gala. The move will allow the franchise to integrate with China’s Trusted Copyright Chain (TCC), a national digital rights infrastructure used by over 600 million gamers.
The migration gives Shrapnel immediate access to a regulated pathway for NFTs in China. It also aligns the shooter with GalaChain’s broader entertainment ecosystem, which spans gaming, music, and film.
Shrapnel said the decision was strategic and will help realize a long-term global vision. GalaChain offers lower fees, faster transaction finality, and native tools for cross-border asset tracking.
According to the announcement, Shrapnel may allocate up to 10% of revenue from its China-based operations for $SHRAP token repurchases on GalaChain, depending on regulatory and market conditions. These repurchases are intended to support the health of the in-game economy.
The bridge to TCC will also allow Chinese players to access NFTs directly through local infrastructure. All Gala wallet holders and existing Neon players will receive a commemorative Bridge Badge NFT, with a 72-hour public claim window for new participants. The badge will also serve as a ticket for first-wave Shrapnel play-tests.
The company plans to release a detailed migration blog and Q&A in the coming days to clarify user impacts and ecosystem changes.

Shrapnel is a free-to-play first-person extraction shooter developed by Neon Machine. Set in a near-future world affected by meteorite impacts, players enter hazardous Sacrifice Zones to collect a valuable resource called Compound Sigma while fighting other players and attempting to escape with their loot. Weapons, armor, and gear are NFTs that can be traded or lost if a player fails to extract.
