The Nightmare Accessory Airdrop rolls out this week in Axie Infinity, offering three exclusive cosmetic items: Bloodmaw, Eyewyrm, and Nightbloom to wallets that meet a set of part evolution criteria. The airdrop is split into two phases, with the first already locked and the second still open for qualification.
How to Get the Nightmare Accessory
Airdrop 1 is scheduled to be distributed on May 22. Eligibility was determined by a snapshot taken on November 18, 2024, at 7 PM ICT. Any wallet with at least two Nightmare-eligible parts evolved before that timestamp will receive a Bloodmaw or Eyewyrm accessory. These are among the first accessory types available as part of the evolving Nightmare collection introduced during the Wings of Nightmare event.
For Airdrop 2, qualification requires evolving at least two Level 1 parts into Nightmare parts. Further specifics have not been released, though the core evolution process remains unchanged. Eligible axies must contain one of the twenty-four base parts that can transition into Nightmare variants.
Evolution steps include gathering Mementos and AXS for the required fee, then heading to app.axie to complete the process. The “Instant Evolution” option reveals results immediately, while the standard method takes 96 hours. No additional materials are required for Nightmare part evolutions, which differentiates them from standard part evolutions.
Wings of Nightmare
These Nightmare evolutions were introduced during the Wings of Nightmare event, a limited-time feature that also debuted the Nightmare collection. That event remains active but will be winding down in the coming weeks. Evolving Nightmare parts before it ends grants access to other perks as well, including Fortune Slips, chances at ultra-rare Nightmare Bodies, and bonus in-game items like collectible chests and boxes containing Runes & Charms.
The Nightmare accessories are designed as tradeable cosmetic items that can be equipped in-game. Each is minted in limited quantity and intended to carry long-term visual significance in the Axie ecosystem.
