Quick Take
- PlaySolana and Jupiter partner on Gamification, DeFi & Mobile Adventures Track.
- Track offers $10,000 USDC in prizes for top three projects.
- Builders create gamified experiences using Jupiter’s infrastructure.
PlaySolana dropped news of a fresh collaboration with Jupiter, the powerhouse behind Solana’s DeFi swaps, kicking off the Gamification, DeFi & Mobile Adventures Track within the Matrix Hackathon where developers dive into creating games that tie directly into Jupiter’s tools.
The hackathon itself rolled out late last year, pulling in builders to craft onchain games tailored for Solana’s speed. With over $50,000 in total prizes up for grabs, it positions PlaySolana’s PSG1 handheld as a key player in bringing blockchain gaming to handheld devices.
This Jupiter Track stands out by focusing on integrations that make DeFi feel like part of the game. Users get to experiment with Jupiter Mobile, turning swaps and liquidity into interactive elements that could redefine how players engage with crypto assets mid-play.
Prizes for the track total $10,000 USDC, split among the winners to reward standout innovations. First place snags $6,000 plus a mentorship session from Jupiter’s team, giving creators a direct line to refine their projects for real-world rollout.
Second and third spots bring $3,000 and $1,000 respectively. It’s a smart incentive that could spark new ways to merge trading mechanics with gaming loops on Solana.
Jupiter, known for handling most of Solana’s DEX volume through its aggregator, brings its JUP token ecosystem into the mix. Trading around $0.21 recently, JUP underpins the infrastructure that powers these gamified experiences.
