Quick Take
- Somnis: Rumble Rush ends Web3 services January 31 for Web2 operations.
- Team cites goals of long-term growth, stability, and broader reach.
- OVERTAKE partners with RPGStash; Pixiland exit Web3 recently.
OVERTAKE announced on January 19, 2026, that Somnis: Rumble Rush will exit its current Web3 service format effective January 31. The real-time strategy game, developed by OVERTAKE and built on Immutable zkEVM with integration to the Sui-based OVERTAKE Marketplace, will continue development and operations under a Web2 publishing framework.
The team stated the change supports long-term growth, continued product evolution, broader reach, stronger operational stability, and sustained development.
OVERTAKE Marketplace, the peer-to-peer platform for gaming asset trades using multi-signature escrow on Sui, added RPGStash as a seller on January 8, 2026. RPGStash, established in 2004, brings over 200,000 customers, 16,000+ reviews, fast delivery, and competitive pricing for MMO items, currencies, and power-leveling across titles like World of Warcraft and Path of Exile.
Recent projects have made similar moves. Pixiland on Ronin Network halted blockchain features on January 15, 2026, citing market volatility, tightening regulations, and dwindling resources. The team converted wrapped Pixi tokens at a 10:1 ratio to non-redeemable GEM currency and allowed NFT holders to claim offchain versions, with the Web3 dashboard closing by March.
OVERTAKE did not disclose whether Somnis could reintroduce blockchain features in the future, saying only that the current focus is on stabilizing development and expanding its player base under the Web2 model. Further details on next steps will come in upcoming announcements.
